I had a friends kid try to install a game, of all things,
and after when booting I received a stop code of c0000218
(could load hive) error. system32\config\security was
corrupt or unwritable. I recovered using recovery console
and the CD, but now I cannot log in at the windows login
prompt. I think the password was tossed because of the
registry(security) file being corrupt. Anyone know how I
could login, or is this a trip to the computer store for
re-installation?
