Hi,

I have 2000 Pro installed on my Father's system. He installed Roxio Easy CD
& DVD Creator 6.0 on his system yesterday. Everything was fine until it
asked him to upgrade the program.

After the upgrade and reboot, the system will not boot. I get the following
error. STOP: 0x0000007B (parameter, parameter, parameter, parameter)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

I tried to repair the system but no luck. I have the drive in my system so
I can backup some files. All the files seem to be there, but my system
wants to run a disk check on it. I'm afraid that we may lose data. I ran
norton anti-virus on it and it came up clean.

Any ideas on how to get the drive to reboot? If I re-install 2k over itself
will it lose all the settings?

Thanks.

.
Did you run chkdsk /f?

Yes, I tried all the known repairs that I could think of. I did find a
knowledge base article ( can't remember the number ) that lists several
things that Roxio 5 can do to screw your system up and how to fix them.

Now my problem is that some of his system files are now corrupted. I now
have to redo his sytem from scratch.
Thinking of moving him up to XP Pro.
