I have been having an increasing problem that when I try
to use applications such as IE or Word the system crashes
and reboots. This does not happen when I am playing games
but only when I use a MS software. The computer will not
shut down but after a short period reboots. Any
suggestions?

.
Had the Blaster Worm but successfully removed it from the
system (I hope)
System has had multiple problems since upgrading to 2000
from 98. Shuts down if you type a URL in IE. Shuts down
if you try to print. Shuts downs just because. Tied to
restart in safe mode and got an error. I can shut down
the system but after a few minutes it restarts by itself.

Ah... well, in spite of what Microsoft says, I have NEVER had
success in upgrading an operating system over the top of old

The only way I have ever had success is to completely wipe the
drive and do the install to a freshly formatted drive

Also... I was recently talking to one of the support staff
where I work (about 500 computers, and company network) and
was told that they discovered that certain BOOT SECTOR virii
are NOT removed by the Format command

You must run FDISK... remove the partition and then create
the partition new... and finally run Format
