I have uninstalled & reinstalled IE6, and also uninstalled
Netscape, yet still each time, I start IE it tells me that
it is not set as my default browser, and do I wish to set
it as so. I click yes every time, but no matter how I try
to set this, it still is not recognizing IE as the default
browser. The reason I'm concerned is that my Quickbooks
program will not start because it says I must have IE
installed. I do! It's just not recognizing it. When I
go to the Add/Remove programs in the control panel and
click on "Set Program Access and Defaults" the only option
it gives me for the default browser is "use my current web
browser". Any suggestions? I'm getting quite frustrated!

Close all running processes and disable your anti-virus application.
Uninstall Quickbooks via Add/Remove Programs then reinstall it.
