Why would the Sys Vol Info give me ACCESS IS DENIED when I click on
it -right click-and I am the Administrator?

If using the default settings, it does that to everyone. Choices:

--Change the permissions for the folder. If using XP Home, you'll need to
boot to Safe Mode to do this. If using XP Pro, turn off simple file
sharing. Then right click on System Volume Information (do not click to
select or you'll get the access denied message again) and choose
Properties. Use the Security page to add the Administrator group. In the
section below the user/groups, select which permissions. are being granted.

--The folder is used by System Restore. Since you can't save restore points
selectively, having access to the folder doesn't accomplish much. Clear the
folder using other methods: Disable System Restore to flush the folder's
contents or use Disk Cleanup to remove all but the most recent restore
point. If there is a virus detection involved, flushing the folder contents
is an effective cleanup step.
