system volume information

What is the purpose of this folder? It and its subfolders
consume over 2GB of file space. Can it be deleted safely?
 
Hi Dan,

It is the folder that houses the System Restore information. Do not delete
anything in here. If it is too large for your liking, use the System Restore
settings to reduce the amount of disk space it is allotted. Control
Panel/System/System Restore tab, click on settings.
