I recently swaped a Hard Drive from a P2 machine and put
it into a P3 machine. The sytem boots up up till the the
screen where you have the option to press F8 to go into
the troubleshooting menu in windows 2000. It then reboots
itself. The only thing i could figure was a BIOS setting
which I fooled around with the power options. That
doesn't make since since it had a hard drive that worked
in it. Why would switiching hard drives from another user
make a difference. After adjusting some power options i
was able to boot but loose the mous and keyboard at the
logon screen. Any suggestions on this one.

If you moved a hard drive with the OS intact from one system to another,
you're in for a lot of problems. The device drivers in the existing OS have
nothing to do with the devices in your new machine. If this is what you
have done, get all the device driver disks (starting with the motherboard
driver) and boot into Safe Mode if possible, and install the correct
drivers. This has saved me in the past.
