Hi,

Is it safe to backup system state to a \\anotherserver\share
*.bkf file?

So if I must recover the system, are these the rights steps to take?

1) Install Win2k and Service Packs.
2) Get the *.bkf file from \\anotherserver\share
3) And restore the system volume and system state from there.

Are these the correct steps?

Thanks,

Do

Yes, but boot to Active Directory Restore Mode to do the restore.

In Windows 2000 Server Unleashed, it says that system state cannot be
backed up or restored
over a network. Am I interpreting this in the wrong way? How is backing up
system state to a *.bkf file
on another server different from backing it up "over the network".

Thanks,
