My Dell 8100 Dimension system will not come out of
Standby when the mouse or keyboard is used. MS website
says SP1/SP1a addresses this problem, but SP1 is already
installed. MS website also gives version information on
4 files that deal with this problem and those versions DO
NOT MATCH the versions I have. Is there a way to re-
install SP1/SP1a?

Open your Device Manager, right-click on your mouse and
select Properties. Click on the Power Management tab and
check "Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby".

You can do the same for your keyboard and other USB devices.

Both devices are already at that setting. Also, I have
installed the latest BIOS from Dell, i.e., XP2. I'm
using a Logitech wireless KB & Mouse and have installed
the latest drivers for those as well. Is there a way for
me to download and re-install SP1/SP1a again since 1a
apparently has different versions of some programs?

Your problem is not with SP1. SP1 and SP1a are identical
except that SP1a does not have the Microsoft Virtual Machine.
Did you make any changes in the BIOS? You should disable
the power management features in the BIOS so Windows XP
can properly handle it.
