Recently installed a Radeon 9600 64mg into my Compaq 1.2
celeron with 512 mem. I am having some serious problems
with the acceleration.
Acceleration on full - system automatically restarts when
simply clicking on the start menu (no error message even
if auto reboot is turned off, and it still reboots)
Tick accleration down one level most things seem to work
alright, but my wife experiences serious problems with
Paint Shop Pro (7 or 8) it auto reboots with no error
message or warning.
Acceleration completely off, no problems.
Now ATI is not providing me any help for diagnosing the
cause of this oddity and it would make sense for this
card to not work in my system. I assume it has to be a
setting somewhere, but I am not able to find it. Any
advice would be greatly appreciated, however I doubt I
will be able to find this area again so please make all
