When I boot the system, or if I have been using Windows Explorer, the
icons on the desktop first appear as white boxes, within which is a
symbol portraying a miniature desktop with miniature icons. These are
very slow to change to the actual icon they originally displaced. How
can I speed up this process so that the icons are on the desktop so
briefly that they actually cant be seen? Thanks. Please reply in
this forum as my email address is fake.

1- Thoroughly scan your computer for all types of malware.

2- Review all the applications you have starting with Windows and decide
whether you really need them to start with Windows.

3- Consider whether your RAM and CPU are still up to the demands being
placed on them by your software.
