Hello all,
in the past 2 weeks I Have installed DSL service. Noticed that after install
system was slow and HDD light stayed on. Was having problems logging into
DSL.
Called DSL provider and we deleted all of there software, as the modem is
actually a router.

The problem is that when we tried to do tests and I was connected with no
browser page open they (DSL provider) saw traffic through my IP.

I have Mcafee VS with what was the latest DAT file dated 11-5-2003. They
said some viruses will go undetected.

I logged off DSL and did a full scan of "C" drive.

It located a .scr file. so I had Mcafee delete file and fix problems.

Scanned several more times and found nothing.

How does a virus attack when I have a anti-virus program running? Are there
more secure setting on Mcafee to set?
How can I make sure the infected file(s) are gone and the system is clean?

Thanks for any help, I have to want to get home to read responses as the
other computer will not allow me to connect to internet.

You should look around and see what's happening on the machine and not
fully depend on the AV to protect the machine.
