System Slow Down

I installed a SCSI one card for a UMAX Astra1200s scanner. It is a new PCI card from umax. After installation it takes 20 minutes for my system to boot. I remove the card and it is a normal boot time. Any ideas?
 
Why are you asking us?

Ask the people that made the card and provided the software.

I am not at all familiar with the Scanner you have but it appears that you
should have had some software to install with the equipment and card you
mention. Did some software CD (s) come along with either or both and did you
install it? Here is their
driver site: http://www.umax.co.uk/support/drivers/currentdrvr.htm .

Scroll down to the 1200s and look at the driver and firmware available. Part
of your problem may be lack of current software/drivers. You are not going
to like 20 minute startups.
