system shut down

I recently installed a fresh copy of windows XP. I cannot stay on for more that 10 minutes after I log on. The error message "Generic host process has encounted a problem and needs to close" will appear after logging on for about 10 minutes. Soon after another window will appear saying"this system is shutting down . Any unsave data wiil be lost" and thats it. The computer will reboot to the desktop once again. Can someone please help me solve this problem. Thanks a bunch in advance.
 
Sounds like u may have a version of the blaster virus run
a anti virus to clean out any viruses you may have.
Or go to gateway.com they have a patch for the blaster
virus thingy u may have to do a search for it.

I have this same shut down problem!! I can't stay connected long enough to download upgrades to Anti Virus???
