System Setup log

when installing XP on my friends pc, i came up against a lot of errrors in
files not transfering from the disk.

it came up in the system setup log

"ERROR:
Setup could not regester the OLE control C:\Windows\system32\netman.dll
because of the following error:
LoadLibrary returned error 126 (the specified module cannot be found)"

it was the same for "netshell.dll" in the same folder.

What is wrong?

Upon installing windows xp upgrade it went through the step but when it got to installig windows I keep getting this error saying that the installation failed: D:\1386\asms. Error Message: Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

which means the data in D:\1386\asms is corrupt.

1. Check and clean the disk
2. Replace the disk if appropriate
