I recently purchased a used windows 2000 machine that has
a system security password at the initial boot that I
would like to disable. I cannot locate how to change the
settings of this feature. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Please reply to mbeaty(removethis)@dc.rr.com

Thanks

If its right at the start of the boot process then it might be a BIOS
password and is unlikley to be a setting you will find in windows.

Try pressing F1 or whatever you use to get in to your bios on your pc and
have a look in there, might be under boot password or bios password or
somthing like that.

I am not sure your problem.If you mean the initial is the boot of
machine,the disable in bios setting.Or if you want login windows system
directly,without type username and password,you can disable this feature in
Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options->Accounts:Limit local
account use of blank passwords to console logon only.
