System Restore

For some reason my System Restore function no longer works. When I attempt a restore it goes for through the motions, calls for a restart then displays a message that System was unable to restore. I have been having unrelated problems with Norton Internet Security 2005 but don't think they are related. Thoughts ??

Hi

One or more of the System Restore files could have been corrupted - try
turning SR off/on - but I'm afraid that you will lose any existing
checkpoints:

Right click My Computer, select Properties and then the System Restore tab.
Enable 'Turn off System Restore on all drives' and reboot your PC. After
that 1st reboot go back into SR and disable 'Turn off System Restore on all
drives' and reboot your PC again. After that 2nd reboot you should have one
new SR checkpoint.

Will,

I followed your suggestion and let several restore points build before
trying a System Restore. Result was same as before - after restarting
program shows message 'your system was unable to restore.'
Any additional suggestions ?

Hi

You may have an underlying problem. See if there are any entries in the
Event Viewer that may reference the problem.
