system restore

[just about had enough today]

can anyone pleae get us out of this mess, please?

we found a virus - it was sending the e mail haywire - we
thought we had installed norton antivirus and firewall -
now we are trying to restore with a reload cd from the
manufacturer but the screen does not list what our
instruction booklet tells us to expect - help......

With mfg xp cds,you usually have the option of recovery only (restorin
software) or format and recovery.If you feel a major situation happened,choos
the later,this reformats the hd,then reinstalls xp.Also,usually after installing the disk
the info page should give you the same options,xps system restore shouldnt be an optio
if you had a virus.
