My system restore has stopped working on my laptop.

I'm running XP, the system restore works fine, until restart, right at the
end, it says, system restore cannot be completed, no changes have been made
to your computer. The laptop is only two months old.

I did download SP2 on day of purchase and not experienced any problems.

Any ideas

Thanks

Unfortunately, it's a fact that the System Restore data can easily become
corrupt. The only option when this happens is to delete all of the current
restore points to refresh the files.

To do this, open Control Panel/System/System Restore Tab. Click the box to
turn system restore off on all drives. Exit and reboot the system. Go back
and turn SR on. If you have multiple hard drives or partitions, I would
recommend only using SR for the root drive.
