I think I deleted something important when I ran spybot
1.3 Now if I try to run a program, from desktop, or
programs, I get a error message saying that I need to
create an association with it to run. Like I deleted all
file extensions or something. I can not run system
restore also.

EXE File Association Fix (Restore default association for EXE files)

If the above fix works, go back into Spybot and check the Recovery option and go
through the files one by one to see if there is anything that should not have
been removed.

I have visited this site, downloaded and ran the fix, but
it still does not work. Any other ideas or help, will be
greatly appreciated. Thanks

Suggestions:
- Check that the non-working shortcuts on your desktop and in the start
menu have valid targets in their properties sheets.

- If the targets are okay and the shortcuts still don't work correctly, go
back to Doug's page. Download and apply the fix for *.LNK files.

I checked the targets and all seemed fine. Downloaded
the .LNK and ran it. Now once I sign onto my account,
computer reboots. Help Please

The reboot is not related to editing the registry info for *.LNK files.
Doug's .reg file restores the default XP registry info for that file type.
Try starting the system in Safe Mode. Disable unnecessary startup programs,
especially ones that you don't recognize. Then try a restart.

NOTE: The inability to run programs (from EXE or LNK files) is often a
symptom of virus infection. All program function is not blocked or you
wouldn't be able to get into Windows at all. Some functions are blocked to
make it difficult to end process on the virus and remove it. Perform a full
system scan with an antivirus program that is using current virus
definitions.
