system restore

My daughter was playing around on my computer....she
thinks she knows it all. She did something to it (can'te
get my MSN mail unless I go thru Hotmail and I keep
getting error messages. I wanted to restore it back to the
way it was before. I went to system restore and it won't
let me restore it back to the date I want. It only shows
today's date and I keep on clicking the button to another
month and it won't go there. How can I get my computer to
restore back to December 1st where at least I know it was
working right then?
