I have recently installed a maxtor 2F040J0 20gb Hard
Drive as a secondary hard drive on my PC. Actually it was
installed by a technician. Everything seemed ok until I
tried to use system restore when an error message came up
telling me that either the new volume F:\ is not being
monitored by s/restore (which it is) or the drive is
turned off or not installed?.

Can Anybody help?.

Roy - it doesn't do any good to monitor the slave drive.
System Restore will not restore files other than those
involved in the Windows Installation. It is designed to
restore your OPERATING SYSTEM to a correctly functioning
condition if you run into problems. All it does is use
up additional memory when monitoring more than the drive
that your operating system is on. I'm assuming that your
operating system installation is on the primary
(usually "C" drive).
