system restore

i need to restore my computer to the settings it was at when i first got it,
but i cant get it back past december, and i need it restored to july, anyone
have any ideas on how i can get the system restore to go back to july?

i think xp can only hold so many restore points. so i think its probbally
deleted. :( sorry. but don't hold me to that. i might be wrong

You can't--at least not with System restore. System Restore has a
maximum of 90 days for it to go back.

Besides that maximum, you can only go back as far as you have
restore points, and how far back your restore points go depends
on how much disk space you let System Restore use.

Hi,

You can't. You would need to do a repair installation to keep your user
profiles, programs, and settings intact. System Restore is a short term fix,
meant to go back a few days prior.

I would also be curious as to why you want to back date the system so far. A
repair installation or system restore may not be the answer to the problem.

It won't. Absolute max is 90 days - and you would have to have it not
making automatic points to do that. It is Not a long term tool, and is
Not a backup; a week or so yes, much more no.
