Yes I clicked on Apply and get the following message:"System Restore
encountered an error trying to enable/disable one or more drives. Please
restart your machine and try again." Tried again and got same error
message.
On the bottom right of the System Restore window Status indicates [C:]
Turned
off. On my laptop that System Restore works ok Status indicates [C:]
Monitoring. The problem seems to be that somehow the hard drive isn't
enabled. Also games won't install. Cd drive reads data disks and plays
music
so I don't think the problem is with the Cd drive and the games not
installing. Any help will be welcome. "Jim said:

When I go to System restore it shows it is turned off. I uncheck the
turned
off selection and the status information at the bottom of the window
shows
[C:] turned off . It should show monitoring. I close the window and and
reopen System restore and it again shows that it is turned off. How can
I
change this so Status will show monitoring rather than turned off.

Did you select the "Apply" button ? If you don't select this action, the
changes will not take place until after you close the window. Sometimes,
I
have had to logoff to get the changes to be effective.
