My son just did a system restore and for some reason it
got hung up. Then after awhile it said it did not have a
file to boot from. Now it won't recognize the C: drive at
all. How can I go back to where I was before??

Restart computer in "Safe Mode" by pressing F8 several
times during restart. Once there select "Start in last
known best configuration" and hit "Enter". If computer
boots up wait until it finishes and shows desktop and then
shut down computer again and see if problem is fixed by
restarting as you usually do.
