ok i tried to restore my system and it said it was unable to restore so I
tried turning off restore and then turning it back on. Now it wont let me
restore to any time before today. Is there any way to undo this damage? I
lost all my files and I NEED them back
Thanks

Turning off System Restore removes your old restore points - you can't get at
them anymore. Turning System Restore on creates a new restore point. System
Restore doesn't back up many of your document folders, e.g., Music, Pictures,
etc. You might try a utility called FreeUndelete at officerecovery.org - or
just Google Freeundelete.

Mr Cat has this absolutely right. Turning off System restore removes all
the restore points. Additionally, System restore deals with executable
code--programs--not user data. So--if what you are missing is user data of
some kind, System Restore won't help. Can you say more about what is
missing, and what may have happened to cause that?
