At system restore with Win XP HE clicking the < or > icon on the day
selection for the current month works but not so on the change of the month.
That is, I can select the restore point I want in the current month but can
not go back to January. Disk space has been set at the max of 12 % and in
the past weeks I have made several restore points. Now, however I have only
two points and Come March 1st I will not have any that I can get to.

I suspect that your February restore points, or some of the latest
ones at least, will still be available after March 1st.

When the System Restore archive reaches the size limit it
automatically drops the oldest restore points so as to free up space
for new ones. If you are making a lot of changes it is quite likely
that all of the old restore points prior to Feb 1st have been removed
and therefore the calendar will not go back to the previous month
because there are no available restore points there. On my own
system I have no restore points prior to Feb 15th ( I did a cleanup
then) and it won't go back to January for that reason.

Good luck

Hello Joton,

Ron has it right.
Have you checked the size of the hidden folder 'System Volume
Information' and compared it to the size of your drive?
How many Restore Points do you see in System Restore - a bit of
counting there - and/or how may RP*** folders do you see in the
'restore' folder within the 'System Volume Information' folder?
And, do you use Windows Defender? Do you see a lot of Restore Points
created by Windows Defender. This automatic creation of IMO useless
wasted Restore Points can be disabled, if you want.

Regards
