I have several new computers with Windows XP SP2 installed. Both computers
will not let me restore the system to a previous OK restore date. I''ve
checked Microsoft's FAQ's and my system appears to be set up correctly to
monitor and restore.

Are there any programs, if installed that wouyld stop a system restore? For
example, Norton Anti-Virus, Registry Fix, etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

That's a pile of rubbish and a show of ignorance to boot.

There are a lot of things that can trash the Restore points and antivirus
programs ARE one of the culprits. It's a good idea to check Restore Points
now and then after anything that might affect the operating system
internals, but unless you've installed something or suffered some sort of a
crash, it's not generally necessary. Depending on what kind of "registry
fix" you did, that could have done it, too.
If you happen to run Norton's GoBack or any simlar program, things can
bet out of step with the Restore Points, too since they aren't always
successful at restoring every nuance the Restore function does.

If any of that makes sense <g>.

This guy is an absolute idiot. The mention of anything Norton smacks like
poison.
