I cannot run a successful system restore--xp home sp2--when I attempt a
restore I get a message "no changes to the computer cannot restore from
this point"
I have tried a number of points with the same message. The problem started
after I removed and reinstalled the software for a Microtek scanner (have
used for years without problems) but it was having problems.
Any suggestions as to what I must do to regain the feature will really be
appreciated--System restore has worked well, and has been needed, in the
past.
So far I seem to be working all programs without problems.
Thanks--Mel

Open tools, restore, create a restore point, delete the old..You might even turn
restore off,restart pc,turn restore on,create restore point,do a disk clean
up,
after its turned off,before restart.

Try Turning it off then on again :
- - - - -
Open System Properties
System restore tab
Tick "Turn off system restore on all drives"
Click Apply
Tick "Turn off system restore .... ."
Click OK
- - - - -
NOTE: THIS WILL DELETE ALL RESTORE POINTS !!

If that doesn't work or if you dont want to delete old restore points (because you
want to restore the computer) then try :
