system restore

If I disable system restore, scan my disk, then turn sys
restore back on, does that mean that I will have no
restore points to go back to? Jayne

That's correct. All system restore points will be cleared.

Yes. DIsabling SR discards current points. This is a good way to
restart if it gets clogged up and wont work - include, after rebooting,
have Folder Options - View set to show Hidden files, and *not* Hide
Protected mode ones and in the System Volume Information folders
deleting all files and folders present. This then gives a clean start

Note that you can discard all but the most recent point if you run Disk
Cleanup - in its More Options
