Thank You

It will not physically delete the application's files but it will
replace the registry with the version as of the chosen restore point
which, if it is prior to the installation of the application in
question, means that the registry entries for that application will
not be present.

For more detailed information see MVP Bert Kinney's System Restore

Good luck

Hi Brunetto,

In addition to the registry entries Ron mentioned, only monitored files well be deleted,
leaving the rest. Which will of course cause the application not to function.

What is it you are trying to accomplish?

Thanks to Ron Martell and Bert Kinney for your replies.
In response to Berts question, “ What are you trying to accomplish?â€, I am
just trying to undo some changes I made to my system that seem to cause
programs to ‘hang,’ - among other things.
My concerns are that a downloaded trial version of Macromedia Studio 8 will
be deleted or corrupted if I restore beyond the date I downloaded the
applications. Incidentally, I have not yet opened or activated the
applications – they are merely saved to a folder in the C drive.
Also, I don’t understand the implications of the terms,' REGISTRY ENTRIES'
that Ron mentioned and 'MONITORED FILES' that Bert mentioned.

Thanks again

Hi,

If you want to restore the system to a point before Macromedia Studio 8 or any other
program for that matter was installed, then I would suggest uninstalling it before
performing the restore. To preserve the download of Macromedia Studio 8 and any other
downloads, you could either save it to a non-monitored drive/partition or if non is
available place it into the My Documents folder.
