Hi,

I have a custom built desktop and its runing WIN XP. It
has alot of virusis on it and now wont even fully load
windows, it says NTLDR is missing on a black screen.
Anyway i was wondering how to do a full system restore
and if i do it will it return the computer to "out of the
box" condition?

Thanks

This procedure requires the WIN XP CD.

Install your Win XP cd in the cd drive.

Reboot.

When you get to the setup screen, make like you were doing
a fresh install and when you get to the "Select a
partition to install to" you need to select the
partition/drive that Win XP is ALREADY on, and click OK.

You will then be presented with a message along the lines
of "XP already detected on this partition, would you like
to repair?"

Click Yes/Ok to repair your XP without losing any data or
settings.
