I went through System Restore help.
If HD crush I can not get advantage of System Restore. It is good after to
recover after any s/w related problem.
Where System Restore files is stored. Can I export and save on different
network location? This may help if h/w fail.

It's 'crash'. No system restore points are dynamic and may not be moved -
nor may they be saved to any kind of removable media.
