system restore unsucessful

My pc wont let me restore it to a later date. Keeps
saying system restore unsucessful. Can you shed some
light on this problem. Thanks.
 
Have had same experience. Keep selecting a "longer ago" date; sometimes I
have had to go back a month or so.
