system restore/reboot functions do not work

My system restore will not let me use setpoints or
setpoints I pick to restore system and restart buttons or
promts after installing updates do not work, they shut the
system off. I have NO way to restore system and it is
enabled. Any suggestions on how to fix?? HELP!!!!
 
Hi,
Have you tried booting in safe mode? The only thing i can
think of at the top of my head is to do a scan disk
through dos mod. This program is included on windows
95/98/ME ETC boot disks. Right now i don't have anymore
avilible information sorry but i will look into it
