system restore question

I am new at Windows XP. If I do a restore from 2 days ago, but installed
software since then will it cause problems or will I have to reinstall the
software? Thanks
 
I have done a restore yet. I am having problems with minidumps when I start
and shut down the computer. THere are quite of few explorer errors as well.
I am almost to the point of reformatting and reinstalling. I really would
like a program that checks the compatibility of older applications runniong
on xp. THe compatibility wizard lets you select programs to run
incompatibility mode but does tell you if they need to. Or atleast that is
what I gather. I have installed quite of bit of older software.
