Have just tried to do a system restore and I get a message
after the restore re-boots saying "SYETEM RESTORE CAN'T
RESTORE FROM THIS POINT, TRY A DIFFERENT RESTORE POINT".I
have tried six or severn points and they all give the same
result.
Has anyone, please, any ideas as to what is causing this.

Many thanks

There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes ALL Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.

I had to try every restore point that I was offered on a calender by XP. six of them did not work. Fortunately the last one did. Worst case you could do a complete reload. The first loading of XP I did from win 98 did not go so well. Neither the second or third. But, the last time I loaded it took all of my file from 98 and loaded them in XP perfectly. Now I set my own restore points once a week.

Good luck.
