Hi.
Any advice would be appreciated. Win XP Service Pack 1 with all availed
updates installed.

I tried to start System Restore from the Start Menu shortcut and receive the
following error

AppName: rstrui.exe AppVer: 5.1.2600.1106 ModName: srrstr.dll

ModVer: 5.1.2600.1142 Offset: 000095fa

Trying to troubleshoot the problem myself, I though I'd go and disable
System Restore, reboot etc and then re enable.

When I tried to access System Restore from Control Panel > System I receive
the following msg:

"An exception occurred when trying to run "shell32.dll, Control_RunDLL.
"C:Windows\System32\sysdm.cpl,"System"

I'm not sure if this is relevant or not, but I transferred all my data to a
new HD last week using MaxBlast 3. Everything seemed to go well, except that
some shortcuts seem to have lost their associated icons. THAT I can fix
myself, but maybe something else was corrupted in the process?

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi Sophie,

Insert WindowsXP CD in your drive, go to Start > Then Run
and type "rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf".
This should fix your problem.
