System Restore Problem

Alright, I'm not sure if this problem fits too well in
this sub category, but oh well. Over the past few
months, I've had a big problem with my internet
connection, namely I can't log onto secure servers via
websites (hotmail, banks, etc), I get the DNS page, and
many programs cannot access their own servers. I tried
making a new user profile for my system, ran all sorts of
programs to seek out spyware, trojan horses, etc, and
basically reworked my entire system.

Well, none of that worked. So I decided I'd just restore
my system to a past save point, before the problem began,
and see what that does, unfortunately, it cannot restore
because there is a backdoor trojan horse virus on my
computer, in a folder I cannot find. Now, I downloaded a
program to remedy this, but it didn't find the virus,
none of my antivirus programs have. Any suggestions on
how to destroy the bugger? Programs? Thanks.

The virus resides in the system restore files the anti
virus scanner cant see. The only way to get rid of it is
to disable system restore. This will probably prohibit
you from restoring your computer even if you reenable it
after the virus is gone but the problems may clear up.
