system restore problem

Hi Everyone!

I've attempted numerous ways of entering the system restore
program. I've used:

%systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

And a window that comes up says system restore but the main
window is all blank!!!. I can't access the start menu, to
use it via the control panel under administratvie Tools.

Does anyone have any other suggestions? I need to roll
back the registry to an earlier date than the F8 option
under "Last Known Good Configuration" uses... that one
gives me this current settings, where none of my icons (or
start menus) are visible (or even there) and I have to run
everything from the new task "run" option from the Windows
Task Manager to use netscape cuz explorer won't work.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!! PLEASE EMAIL ME!!

In this case, I think you should ignore that tantalizing phrase "Last known
good configuration", and opt for "Safe Mode".

That mode is very humble, but very powerful. It should allow you to do a
restore.
