Whenever I install a new program XP creates a new system restore and deletes
the old ones. Anyone know why, and how I can retain the old ones? It
should not be a space issue on the HD, as I have an 80 Gig HD and only a few
other programs installed.

Go to Control Panel/System Restore/Settings and see how much disk space
usage is alloted to System Restore. Mine is set for max, 12%. If hard disk
space is not a concern set it to Max.

Hello JMAX,

There are several ressons that this may happen, follow the link to an
article that offers suggestions, this should resolve your issue.

Maybe the problem is that I set up the partition on my C drive to small(?).
If that is the problem is there a way to fix it without reinstalling XP.

I just installed XP on a new 80 GB hard drive. Here is the setup:

A: Floppy

C: Disk size 15.6 MB/10.3 free-has my documents and a few downloads.

D: When I click on this icon, it says disk not formatted, do you want to
format now.

E: Disk size 74.4 GB/71.8 free-has XP on this drive.

In System Restore:

C. Set at Max 100% (15 MB)

E. Set at Max 12% (9153MB)
