System Restore Points

Is it possible to create a schedule, using for example time of day/day of
week, when the system will create a restore point?

Alternatively has anyone published a foolproof, line-by-line command
recipe - which even I could follow! - to amend the default interval of
inactivity which I understand is built into the XP system restore facility.
I am nervous about jumping in with dangerman, "Reg Edit", and changing
registry keys without explicit guidance to hand.

Incidentally I'm now using SP2. Thanks in advance.

System Restore creates restore points based on its own criteria.
You cannot change its restore point creation scheduling.
