System Restore Not working after uninstalling Windows Defender

I uninstalled Win Defender because overall it slowed my system down.
Sfter uninstalling it, I noticed that system restore had stopped auto
creating restore points. When Defender was installed it was constantly making
its own restore points.
I have turned off System restore and then turned it on again hoping to get
it working, but for 2 weeks now there have been no new restore points created.
Anyone know how to get System restore working again to automaytically create
restore points every few days or so like it did before thisd Beta Defender??

I'm afraid I don't have an answer to your problem, although I'd sure be
interested in hearing a solution from someone, myself.

However, if no one offers any better ideas fairly soon, you might want
to consider reinstalling Windows Defender to see if your system starts
making restore points again. If it does, but you find that they are the
WD checkpoints instead of the usual restore points, you could then try
Steve Dodson's registry editing trick to get back to normal restore
point creation (which I did on my own system). At that point, instead of
uninstalling WD, if you still wanted to do without it, you might want to
just opt for turning off WD's real-time protection, instead of
uninstalling it.

Not a perfect solution, perhaps, but possibly one that would work and
that you could live with.
