System Restore lost my data drive

I have Windows Home premium and did a restore to a time earlier in the day. I
got the message saying that it had not completed the restore successfully,
and nothing had changed BUT my D drive (with all my data) has gone missing.

I have tried an "undo" and restoring to a time two days earlier, but the D
drive will not return.

Can anyone please help - I am desperate (of course I was going to do a
backup, but didn't get around to it!)

Hi,

Is D: a seperate volume on the same drive or a separate physical drive? Does
it show in disk manager or device manager?

Hello. Thanks for the reply.
It is (was) a physically separate disk, and it does not appear in the disk
manager, or device manager or even in Dos.

Any ideas?

Try reinstalling the drive controller.

Depends on the manufacturer. Do you know the motherboard make/model? System
model?
