System restore isnt working and i have important missing files from registry

can someone help me? someone was trying to help me remove
spyware from my computer and they deleted important
windows files in the registry!!

not when i click on the start menu nothing happens and i
cant run system restore because there is no previous
restore point before it happened,

does anyone know how i can restore the files that were
deleted from my registry?

First off before going into the regedit, ALWAY, ALWAYS create a backup. If you didn't do this you are pretty much outta luck
In the future use a program called Ad-Aware by Lavasoft, it is a program that scans your system and removes spyware. Including cleaning the registry

If Windows system files were deleted you can go to Start > Run, type
'cmd' (without the quotation marks) pressing enter and then typing:
sfc /scannow (note the space between the c and the forward slash),
it is convenient to have the Windows XP CD in the CD Rom when running
the command, as it will need some files from there. It might be that
your computer has some 'system restore' folders in another drive, so
it would be convenient to look for a i386 folder.
