System Restore is current date only!

Running XP Home...When I went into System Restore the
only date "fixed" is the current date. Whats up with
that??? I thought System Update kept a log of dates over
a long period of time. Any ideas whats going on?
 
Perhaps the space allocated for systen restore is to
small? check the properities.Default is 10% of your H/D
but I find that to be too much.
