I'm trying to restore my computer to factory settings. I had done it once
before, but cannot remember how to. I do not want to do a regular restore
point; I need to get everything erased basically, all the way back.
Can anybody help me?

Thanks.

Are you talking about BIOS settings, or restoring your operating system to
its initial state?
If you are talking about BIOS settings, follow your PC makers instructions
to enter the BIOS, where the option to restore defaults should be
prominently displayed.
If you're talking about the OS...
Depending on the source of your PC and what came with it, there are two
possibilities:
1. If you have a "system restore" CD (name may vary slightly), it should
reinstall your OS and other software to the state when you got the PC new.
2. If you don't have a restore CD, you'll have to do it manually by booting
from your OS CD, then electing the option to format the OS partition, then
reinstall the OS. After that, you'll have to reinstall your applications.
Bear in mind that either option will destroy any files you have created
while using the PC, so you need to back up your data first.
