Alright, I installed Vista Beta 2 Build 5472 on my computer and want to go
back to Windows XP (some programs I need do not work on Vista) but instead of
a XP disk I have another hard drive in my copmputer. Usally I just need to
hold F11 to do a system restore but since I installed Vista that doesnt work,
can someone please help?

Could you be more specific?. Is the intent here to make Vista will go away
and make XP come back?

Sorry if I'm unclear I really dont understand much about drives and
partitions, what I want to do is completely remove Vista from my computer but
instead of a XP install disk I have a partition with my XP system recovery
files on it. How do I install XP from a partition?

Can you copy the files to a CD and then boot from the CD to restore your XP?

Nope didint work. There are quite a few different files and after looking
around a bit I found a "restore" application but when I tried to run it I
got: "Error 2: C:\Windows\system32\SVG.DLL missing." and a few other errors
about missing files. I have a computer similar to this one that has the same
restore setup but the computer is different (better but made by the same
people), I dont know how this would effect my computer. should I copy those
files from the other computer and place them on this one?

By the way, thanks for your help guys

Arghh just tried checking to see if the files were in windows.old and they
arent, not even on my other computer so that wont work.

You may have to call tech support from the computer manufacturer or the computer dealer, or buy a full version of XP and use that. I would never buy a computer without having the operating system compete on a disk that can be installed. You are asking for trouble with restore partitions. Of course you could install Linux if you are so inclined.
