What would cause the system restore to constantly become disabled after
enabling it. Win XP Home, AMD1800+,512 ram.
I can enable the checkmark in the enable box and go back to it after
awhile and it is disabled again......

Disable SR on all drives. Press Apply|Yes, when prompted|OK Reboot.
Enable SR. Press Apply|OK|

Better yet, disable system restore and keep it disabled. Use a product like
Norton Ghost 2003 or Drive Image7 from Symantec to create an image of your
hard drive.

Hello;
Thanks for the reply.
I did try this "Disable SR on all drives. Press Apply|Yes, when prompted|OK
Reboot.
Enable SR. Press Apply|OK| "
Didn't work, System restore just disables again after I check the enable box
and apply it. When I close and return later it is disabled again.......
Thanks

Start|Run|Type services.msc|OK|Scroll down to the System Restore
Service|R-click on it|Properties|General tab|Start up type|Set to
Automatic|Apply|OK|
