System restore crashes on starting

Hi

My uncle has installed winfixerpro and winantivirus because a pop up told
him to.

Since then he had load sof issue like slow browsing , popups etc.....

I have removes these packages and replaced with Zonealrm and avast. Run all
number of antispywrae packages to clear all this gump.

However , there are two issues

1) System Restore just sdoesnt start. When double clicke d, it opens a blank
screen with SYSTEM RESTORE at the top. Nothing happens. My uncle claims this
issue started atfter he asked winfixer to repair his registry.

2) When he plugs his camera in (USB) windows detects it and opens the root
folder as a removable ahrd drive. He needs it to autoplay and give him an
option of what to do. All autoplay aoptions are correct for this , but it
stillonly opens as a folder.

Are these two issue related ? How do I fix them.

thats strange, but I think you have a contaminating virus, I would take it
down to a specialist before you trying to fix it yourself, but if you live
crazy and take sooo many risks then I would find downoad this file from
download.com , then go to spyware/adware remover and download one of them,
install and use it. I got my dad one for his laptop.

Hi,

They could be related. You will want to remove Winfixer first.

How Do I Remove Trojan Vundo/Winfixer/Virtumonde?
http://www.dslreports.com/faq/13331
That FAQ read 1351 times in the last 7 days and no reports of failure
(except in the case of a double Vundo infection- see below)

Symantec Security Response - Trojan.Vundo Removal Tool

It doesn't work if they have a double Vundo infection as in this thread
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,14673165
You'll need to use VundoFix by Atribune twice.

If after the Winfixer removal, System Restore still shows a blank
screen, take a look at these tips.
